Boydells Dairy Farm offers five-star family day out

For two adults, entry cost £16, with two pots of animal feed costing an additional 50p each, bringing the total visit to just £17.

For the experience on offer, this felt like excellent value for money.

The farm in Wethersfield is spread across a huge site, giving visitors plenty of space to explore, with animals roaming freely around the grounds.

From cows, sheep and lambs to goats, donkeys, horses, ponies, guinea pigs, rabbits, alpacas, birds, chicks and pigs, there is something to capture the attention of visitors of all ages.

One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to take part in animal interactions throughout the day.

Activities include cow milking, small animal encounters, feeding sessions and grooming experiences, allowing guests to learn more about the animals and farm life.

During my visit, I had the chance to hold a chicken and feed a variety of animals, including cows, alpacas, goats, lambs and horses.

It was a fantastic opportunity to get closer to the animals and made the experience feel much more memorable than a traditional day out.

The farm itself is set within beautiful surroundings, with a charming stream running through the site adding to its peaceful and picturesque atmosphere.

The friendly staff and farmers were welcoming, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the animals in their care, making the visit even more enjoyable.

For families, Boydells Dairy Farm is particularly well equipped.

There is a large car park, plenty of seating areas for visitors to enjoy a picnic or lunch, and a farm and gift shop selling everything from toys and cuddly teddies to fresh milk and branded T-shirts.

With so much to see and do, the farm provides the perfect opportunity to spend a few hours exploring, learning and making memories together.

Whether you are looking for a fun family day out, an animal lover’s experience or simply somewhere to enjoy the Essex countryside, Boydells Dairy Farm is well worth a visit.

I highly recommend popping along, and taking advantage of all the farm has to offer.
