A London woman has been banned from a south Essex shopping centre for three years following an investigation.

Latoyah Williams, 37, was handed a three-year criminal behaviour order by Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday, September 4.

The order bans her from entering Lakeside Shopping Centre or the Homesense store in Lakeside Retail Park.

Any breach of the order could result in another court hearing, with potential penalties including a fine or imprisonment.

Williams, of Gilder Avenue, Enfield, was convicted at the same court last month of 11 shoplifting offences committed between June 26 and November 7, 2025.

The court found that Williams had stolen over £2,500 worth of clothing and household items from various stores, including H&M, Pull & Bear and Zara.

She also stole from Homesense stores in Lakeside Retail Park and Harlow, and from Next in Chelmer Village Retail Park, Chelmsford.

Williams was given a six-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to complete 35 days of rehabilitation work.
