A motorcyclist in his 40s has died and a man has been arrested after a crash in Corringham.
The incident happened yesterday evening (September 3) and was reported to emergency services at 8.45pm.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his family is receiving support from specialist liaison officers.
A man in his 50s from Corringham has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, driving while over the prescribed drug limit, and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We have spoken to a number of people who witnessed the incident and we’re continuing to appeal for anyone who captured it on dashcam or CCTV footage to please come forward."
The crash happened near queuing traffic related to a separate incident.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services worked at the scene and reopened in the early hours of the following morning.
The victim’s family is being supported by specialist officers.
