A MALDON author is transporting readers to the icy edges of Greenland in his new crime novel.
Benjamin Lloyd has announced the release of Misstep, the fourth book in the DI Carson Mysteries series.
The story follows Detective Inspector Jack Carson and his wife Eva as they are sent to Nanortalik, a remote town on Greenland’s southern coast.
A routine paperwork assignment quickly turns into a murder investigation following the suspicious death of a cruise ship crew member.
A suspicious post-mortem and a growing network of clues point to something much darker beneath the surface.
Benjamin said: "Misstep is about what happens when a case that looks straightforward turns treacherous.
"I wanted to capture the atmosphere of a place that is both beautiful and unforgiving, and to put Carson in a setting where he has to think fast, trust his instincts, and keep his sense of humour under pressure."
The novel features forensic detail, dry humour and mounting suspense.
It explores themes of secrecy, community tensions, and a deadly attack that is not what it first appears to be.
