A road has been closed in both directions after a crash, with slow-moving traffic reported nearby.
Leigh Road is shut between Cliffsea Grove and Carlton Drive.
It is not yet clear how many vehicles are involved or whether anyone has been injured.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area where possible and allow extra time for their journeys.
Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
