A crash has partially blocked a major A-road, with traffic queueing in both directions.
The incident has been reported on the A414 near North Weald Airfield, between Vicarage Lane and Rayley Lane, close to North Weald Market and the airfield.
Delays are being worsened by traffic travelling to and from North Weald Market, with motorists urged to allow extra time or consider alternative routes where possible.
It is not yet clear how many vehicles are involved or whether anyone has been injured.
Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
