A man suffered head and eye injuries after being attacked by multiple people in an underpass.
The assault took place in the Greenstead area of Colchester, near Tesco, at around 2.10am on Monday, August 31.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are appealing for any information after a man was assaulted.
"It was reported a man was left with injuries to his head and eye after multiple suspects assaulted him in an underpass close to Tesco at about 2.10am on Monday 31 August.

"The victims is receiving treatment in hospital and our investigation is ongoing."
Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward, quoting incident 136 for Sunday 31 August.
