A spokesperson from Saffron Walden Fire Station said: "Despite the change in weather, we’re still being kept busy.
"Late last night and into the early hours of the morning, we were mobilised to an over-the-border incident in nearby Haverhill where an industrial unit had caught fire."
On their return journey at around 3.30am, the crew was redirected to support police and ambulance teams at a separate incident in their local area, with assistance from Newport firefighters.
