Passengers travelling between Essex and London Liverpool Street are facing delays, cancellations and alterations after a signalling fault at the capital’s main station.
All lines at London Liverpool Street have now reopened following the earlier issue.
Disruption is expected to continue until around 9pm tonight (Friday, August 28).
Greater Anglia services may be cancelled, delayed by up to 35 minutes or revised while trains return to their normal timetable.
Routes affected include services between London Liverpool Street and:
- Southend Victoria
- Braintree
- Colchester
- Clacton
- Ipswich
- Norwich
- Hertford East
- Stansted Airport
- Cambridge North
Greater Anglia said: “Owing to an earlier fault with the signalling at Liverpool Street, train services are still subject to delays, alterations and cancellations.”
Passengers with advance tickets whose booked service has been cancelled will be allowed to use an earlier or later train.

The rail operator said customers delayed by 15 minutes or more may be eligible for Delay Repay compensation, depending on their ticket and journey.
Travellers are being urged to check before setting off and allow extra time for their journey.
