A long-term reduction in parking is set to begin in September to support the scheme at Witham station, which aims to improve facilities and accessibility.
The station, which recorded 1.9 million passenger entries and exits in 2024-25, will see a major transformation under the scheme.
Plans include a new two-storey station building, a modern entrance on Easton Road, and a new ticket office relocated from Albert Road.
Andrew Goodrum, Greater Anglia’s infrastructure and major projects director, said: "Witham station is set to be redeveloped, bringing a host of benefits to customers, with a new, more accessible ticket office, automatic ticket gates installed for the first time, solar panels, new lighting, and space for new retail units, along with 200 new cycle spaces.
"While the project is underway, we will need to temporarily reduce the number of car parking spaces available at Witham station.

"Alternative parking is available at Hatfield Peverel and Beaulieu Park stations.
"We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and thank our customers for their patience and understanding while this redevelopment work takes place."
The parking reduction will begin on September 7 and remain in place until the end of 2027, with alternative parking available at Hatfield Peverel and Beaulieu Park stations during the works.
The scheme also includes 200 additional cycle spaces, upgraded lighting, and solar panels to reduce the station's carbon footprint.
Automatic ticket gates will be installed at both entrances, along with supporting infrastructure funded by the Department for Transport.
Additional improvements will include new retail units, a refreshed Albert Road entrance, and first-floor office space for staff.
The project is being delivered in partnership with Walker Construction.
