Plans have been submitted to create an outdoor seating area at a proposed KFC site in Witham.

The application relates to Units 2 and 3 at Griggs Way, where the site is designated for use as a KFC restaurant as part of a wider retail and drive-thru development.

The proposal seeks full planning permission for the installation of external seating in the pavement area outside the unit.

If approved, the seating would allow customers to dine outdoors, adding to the facilities at the fast-food outlet once it becomes operational.

The plans are currently pending consideration by Braintree Council.

It comes as the wider development in the area, including multiple food and retail units, remains under construction, meaning the KFC is not yet open to the public.

In a declaration submitted with the application, the applicant confirmed that all information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge and acknowledged that the details will be published on the council’s public planning register.

A decision will be made following the council’s review process.
