A fifth man has been charged with facilitating illegal immigration following an incident on the Essex coast.
Albanian national Fation Kalemaj, 44, of no fixed abode, appeared before Bradford Magistrates’ Court on August 11, where he was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Bradford Crown Court on September 10.
The incident in question saw several individuals being dropped off at the coastline in Holland-on-Sea, near Clacton, on July 1, leading to their detention for immigration offences.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) was alerted by Essex Police after reports of a vessel near the shore.
Kalemaj’s charge follows four others in connection with the same incident.

Albanian national Illia Prendi, 57, was previously charged with facilitating illegal immigration.
Polish nationals, 25-year-old Konrad Dabrowski and 41-year-old Damian Ciuron, both from Bradford, were arrested by Essex Police in Holland-on-Sea on Wednesday, July 1, on suspicion of facilitating illegal immigration.
In a related operation, 45-year-old Italian national Christian Albano was apprehended at sea by officers from the Border Security Command, supported by HM Coastguard, on suspicion of the same offence.
