Drivers are being warned about a 37-mile diversion route while a village road is closed.

Essex Highways is carrying out works on the A414 in Danbury between Monday, August 10 and Saturday, August 22.

A small stretch of the road will be closed near Woodford Medical Aesthetics.

The work will take place overnight between 7pm and 5am to minimise disruption to drivers.

The official diversion route is 37 miles long.

The diversion route is so long because it has to include A roads for larger vehicles such as HGVs and not smaller roads that other drivers may use as shortcuts.
