A MAN who faces charges of sexual activity with children has had his case sent to the crown court.
Daniel Murphy, 33, of Rose Hill, Braintree, appeared at Colchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday over charges of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child; attempting to cause a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and causing a child under 13 to see an image of sexual activity.
Due to its serious nature, the case is being sent to Chelmsford Crown Court for a pre-trial and preparation hearing, where he will formally enter his plea.
Murphy’s barrister told the court he intends to plead guilty to the charges.
Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report to be prepared for the crown court hearing.

Bench chair Kerry Downes said: “Three bail conditions have been suggested to us.
“You are granted bail with conditions, to appear before Chelmsford Crown Court on September 1.
“You are not to have unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18, save for that which is unavoidable through everyday life.
“You are not to communicate online with anyone under 18.
“You are not to live or sleep at any address where anyone under the age of 18 is present.
“If you commit any offences while on bail, your sentence will be greater.”
Murphy, of Rose Hill, Braintree, will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on September 1.
