New show homes have opened at a major development on the edge of an Essex village as demand for homes within easy reach of continues to grow.

Independent housebuilder Dandara has unveiled two show properties at Prior’s Edge in Takeley, a 96-home scheme on a 12.5‑acre site.

The development will include 57 private homes and 39 affordable units, with two-bedroom houses starting at around £385,000.

Among the featured homes is the three-bedroom Frogmore, a detached property with an open-plan kitchen and dining area leading to the garden via French doors.

The five-bedroom Blenheim includes three bathrooms and a kitchen-family room ideal for entertaining.

Each home is designed to reflect the rural charm of Takeley, featuring energy-efficient layouts, high-specification kitchens, and private gardens.

The scheme also includes landscaped open spaces, play areas, and walking routes connecting the neighbourhood to the surrounding countryside.

Takeley offers excellent transport links, with London accessible in under 48 minutes from nearby Bishop’s Stortford, Stanstead Mountfitchet, or Stansted Airport railway stations.

The development also has convenient access to the A120, A131, and M11.
