Drivers travelling on the M11 are facing severe delays due to two earlier crashes.
Long tailbacks built up following an earlier crash near Saffron Walden, which led to emergency repairs to the central reservation barrier.
Two lanes on the motorway, one in each direction, are closed for the repair work.
The incident occurred just before 8am, causing closures and delays between junction 9 and junction 8.

National Highways said: "The central reservation barrier has been damaged and repairs will be taking place during the day.
"There are delays of up to 35 minutes on the approach."
Congestion reaches as far back as junction 10 near Duxford.
One lane is also closed due to crash on M11 towards Hertfordshire from junction 8 near Bishops Stortford to junction 9 near Saffron Walden. This is after a 20-minute block at 10.10am.
Travel time is 30 minutes due to this incident.
