Motorists are set to face delays on a major route.
Drivers using the M11 face overnight disruption this weekend due to emergency resurfacing works on a busy stretch of the northbound carriageway.
National Highways has announced that the M11 northbound will be shut between junctions 7 and 8 overnight on Saturday, 18 July, with work scheduled between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting.
The closure is to allow crews to resurface the worn road surface, refresh road markings, and replace damaged studs, also known as cat’s eyes, to improve safety for motorists.
During the closure, drivers will be directed away from the motorway onto a lengthy diversion route via local A-roads.

Northbound traffic will be sent east on the A414, then up the A1016, before continuing north on the A131 and turning east onto the A120 to rejoin the M11 at junction 8.
The signed diversion covers around 36 miles in total, significantly increasing journey times for anyone travelling overnight towards Stansted Airport and Cambridge.
National Highways is urging drivers to allow extra time, follow diversion signs, and check for updates before setting off, especially those heading for late-night or early morning flights from Stansted.
The agency says the work is essential to keep the route in good condition and make the motorway safer for all road users, thanking motorists for their patience while the resurfacing takes place.
