Song by Saffron Walden girl, 9, hits 50,000 streams

Constellations was written by Rosie Porter and brought to life by  singer/song writer Elliot Porter (no relation).

The song has become an underground hit on the streaming service since its release in November 2024, just after Rosie turned 10.

Martin Porter, Rosie's father, who is also a music photographer and promoter, said: "50,000 Spotify streams!

"Absolutely amazing, thank you everyone.

"Constellations is currently flying higher than at any point since its release in November 2024.

"Currently not playlisted, in the press, no paid promotion, no bots just you guys and girls."

"We never charted , got on tv or on any radio stations bigger than BBC Essex and Rosie never got her message from Sam Ryder.

"But what we did succeed in doing is having a cult, underground hit supported with love and the right reason of celebrating talent, song writing , musicianship and a bit of magic from a nine-year-old girl in this age of fake AI rubbish songs.

"It just continues to grow and grow and it's real and organic."

To celebrate the song’s success, Martin and Elliot Porter have organised a mini music festival at the Jubilee Gardens bandstand in Saffron Walden.

Running from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday, September 6, the event will feature live performances from Elliot Porter and his band.

Rosie, now 11, will take the stage to perform her song.

Additional acts are still to be announced.

Entry to the event is free, with an optional collection to support the musicians, all of whom are performing without payment.

Elliot Porter said: "After the amazing success that Constellations has had online, which I can say has definitely surpassed my expectations, we wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for their support by holding a free entry celebratory gig.

"The Bandstand in Saffron Walden is a great place for this with a nice vibe and I’m looking forward to playing there with the band in September!

"Expect songs from the EP I choose the Moon and a couple of new ones."
