NEW analysis has found abolishing stamp duty could save families in Uttlesford £12,820 when moving home.
Plans set out by the Conservative Party are part of the party's pledge to abolish stamp duty on the family home.
Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP said: "Stamp duty is a bad tax.
"A future Conservative government will scrap it, saving families in Uttlesford over £12,000 and giving them the opportunity to move, grow, or downsize their homes.
"Labour are failing to deliver the housing they promised.
"Reform has no plan at all and the Liberal Democrats voted against our plan.
"Only the Conservatives will scrap stamp duty on the family home, getting the market moving again and giving people a leg up onto the housing ladder."
The Conservative Party plans to fund the change through cuts to welfare and other areas of public spending.
They argue that removing stamp duty would stimulate the housing market by unlocking hundreds of thousands of homes.

Research suggests that up to two million people would consider downsizing in the next five years if stamp duty were scrapped.
If even half of those moved, it would release a million homes for buyers and boost surrounding economic activity.
The Conservative Party claims that each house sale brings additional income to businesses including builders, decorators and removal firms, with research suggesting the Conservative plans could give a £1.2 billion boost to these companies.
