The fire, which broke out on New Year’s Eve, tore through Oak Cottage in Hatfield Broad Oak, Essex, damaging about half of the roof and causing extensive damage.
The Grade II* listed property—described by estate agents Wright & Co as one of the oldest homes in the village—is now being marketed as a “fantastic renovation opportunity” with an asking price of £275,000.
The agent said: "The property, unfortunately, was extensively damaged in a thatch fire and does require complete renovation.

The fire began at around 3.20pm on December 31, and a total of 19 crews and units from the fire service worked at the scene across two days.
Crews said about 50 per cent of the thatched roof was alight when they arrived.
The fire was fully extinguished by 4.42am on January 1, and an investigation later confirmed the blaze was accidental.
The cottage is located on Broad Street Green in the historic Essex village and sits within a “delightful plot in a period setting”.
The agents estimate the property could be worth around £650,000 once fully restored.
It also offers easy access to Bishop’s Stortford and Harlow, both of which offer shopping centres, schools, and mainline train stations with connections to London Liverpool Street and Cambridge.
