SAFFRON Screen has backed Saffron Walden's campaign to become Town of Culture 2028.

A spokesperson for the independent community cinema said: "We’re delighted to support Saffron Walden Town Council’s Town of Culture bid.

"We believe culture plays a vital role in bringing people together, sparking creativity and creating spaces for connection, conversation and shared experiences.

"Through film, we see every day how storytelling can connect people across generations and backgrounds, inspire new ideas and strengthen our community.

"This bid is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the creativity, talent, heritage and energy that already thrives across Saffron Walden, while also looking ahead to what we can build together in the future."

The bid was officially submitted on March 27.

A spokesperson for SWTC said: "Thank you for everyone’s support so far – please continue to back Saffron Walden’s bid in becoming Town of Culture 2028."

Individuals, organisations and businesses are encouraged to show their support by sending a short message and logo to events@saffronwalden.gov.uk to be featured on the council’s 'wall of support'.

Latest updates on the campaign are available at saffronwalden.gov.uk/town-of-culture-2028/ or via the town council's social media channels.
